A kid who CARES is a kid who WINS.
Wanda gets right to work explaining to Maneesha how mistakes can sometimes be a good thing, but not just any mistakes! Wanda starts by explaining the three different kinds of mistakes:
Sloppy John mistakes happen when you already know something, but still make a mistake because you're tired, distracted, not focusing, or just in a rush.
Jitters mistakes happen when you're nervous about doing something, like performing in public or when you feel like you're under a lot of pressure.
Stretcher mistakes happen when you try to do something new or stretch a skill | beyond what you've already mastered.
Wanda also explains:
Stretchers can lead to frustration because doing things you don't know how to do yet is hard.
Stretchers are the mistakes which help your brain grow stronger!
Can you think of a time you made a Sloppy John mistake? How about a Jitters mistake?
Think about a time you made a Stretcher mistake. What were you trying to do? Did your mistake make you feel frustrated? How did you behave after the mistake?
