A kid who CARES is a kid who WINS.
Yikes! Seems like Wanda's invention of Learnia has some glitches in it! Maneesha finds herself in a classroom simulation where she feels challenged by a word problem. Her teacher and her sister both offer assistance, but Maneesha refuses.
Once back in GroValley, Maneesha lands in some Anti-Growth Goo and isn't sure she'll be able to move on. Remember:
Climbing mountains in GroValley represents overcoming learning challenges.
Growth blockers prevent you from learning. Examples of common growth blockers are comparison, rejecting feedback, rejecting help, and shoulding. • Thinking you can't learn will prevent you from growing. Believing you can learn will lessen the frustration when things don't go right.
Why does Maneesha reject feedback from her teacher, and reject help from her sister?
Wanda says that one of Maneesha's growth blockers was "shoulding." What do you think it means to "should" yourself?
Maneesha thinks "growth mindset" is a better phrase than "anti-anti-growthgoo state of mind." Have you heard the phrase growth mindset before? What do you think it means?
